Alias vs. Non-Alias Hotels: What’s the Difference?

Both offer barrier-free check-in—no credit card required. Here's how they differ.

When your agency books through Safe Stays, you’ll have access to two types of hotel partners: alias-approved and non-alias hotels. Both options are prepaid by ReloShare, and clients are never asked for a credit card at check-in.

The key difference? ID and name requirements.

🔒 Alias Hotels

  • No ID or real name required

  • Client checks in under an alias

  • Ideal for survivors fleeing violence, trafficking, or without access to their documentation

  • ReloShare’s 24/7 team contacts the hotel for each booking to:

    • Confirm alias check-in protocols for every booking

    • Ensure ReloShare’s payment is on file

🏨 Non-Alias Hotels

  • No credit card required

  • Client will need to provide real name and ID

  • Still a prepaid, trauma-informed option

  • ReloShare’s team confirms with hotel staff that:

    • Check-in is expected

    • Our payment is on file to avoid any delays

Why It Matters

Not every hotel in the Safe Stays network supports alias check-in—but every hotel supports trauma-informed, prepaid, barrier-free placement. You can filter for alias-approved hotels in the booking portal depending on your client’s needs.
