NNEDV Safety Net Project: Exploring technology safety in the context of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and violence against women.

The Safety Net Project at the National Network to End Domestic Violence a national training and technical assistance provider on technology abuse and safety, identity and privacy, and confidentiality. The team looks at how technology can be misused as a tactic of abuse, how survivors can strategically use technology to increase privacy and safety, and how service providers can harness technology effectively while balancing confidentiality obligations. In her early career, she worked in civil rights, anti-gender-based violence, and technology safety non-profit organizations providing advocacy support to clients and survivors of violence. Ikram is dedicated to leveraging technology for social good, aiming to empower and educate those working to create safer environments for survivors.

Lupe Garcia was born and raised in California. As the youngest of five, she has  plenty of sibling stories. She has a son and dog that she loves with all her heart and keeps her busy. Lupe loves the great outdoors, especially camping and hiking. Visiting national parks and forests is her absolute favorite hobby.
